Our Fearless Leader

Lewis Hickson is the CEO and Creative Director of Getshot Ltd, a visionary entrepreneur breaking boundaries in virtual production and immersive experiences. Known for his hands-on expertise in the evolving metaverse, Lewis is rewriting the rules of digital storytelling by seamlessly integrating technology and creative direction. His leadership style is driven by an ambitious goal: to fuse cutting-edge tech with powerful narratives, creating experiences that redefine what’s possible in virtual worlds.

 

A former head of department at the BBC, Lewis became the youngest to hold this role, where he not only led multi-million-dollar productions but also championed smaller, bootleg-style projects, showcasing his versatility and range. His work spans across the production spectrum, and he brings a sharp focus to ensuring every project delivers both creatively and technically. Instead of relying on buzzwords like “innovation,” he demonstrates his trailblazing approach with concrete results—turning sci-fi dreams into practical realities through the dynamic use of emerging technologies.

 

With a thirst for constant learning and development, Lewis has cultivated an extensive network of mentors, guiding his journey across business, technology, and production. He emphasizes the power of collaboration while drawing on his artistic instincts, which shape not only his company’s brand but also its content and creative processes.

 

Underneath it all, Lewis thrives on pushing limits. He’s a rule-breaker by nature, obsessed with what’s next, and relentless in his drive to create the future of entertainment—whether on a blockbuster budget or bootstrapped ingenuity.

The Dream Team

Sky Tomlinson

CTO

Sky Tomlinson, aka PineFruit, is the CTO of GetShot, bringing over six years of hands-on startup experience in product development and marketing. Since July 2023, he's been pushing the boundaries of Verse development, specializing in universal creative device systems that have powered multiple Fortnite maps featured on the Home Bar. Known for solving complex problems in the UEFN space, Sky’s mission is to stay at the forefront of technological advancements, while also placing importance on self improvement and continuous learning. He enjoys sharing these values with his team, fostering a culture of growth and innovation. His passion for getting things done keeps GetShot ahead of the game as we pioneer the Meta Verse and solidify our place as industry leaders. Sky's skills and vision are key to shaping the future of our studio.

Meara Nightingale

COO

Meara Nightingale, the COO of GetShot LTD, is a dynamic leader with nearly a decade of experience in working with high-performing software development teams. As the former VP of Operations at a multimillion-dollar cybersecurity company, she was instrumental in shaping its rise from the ground up, leading to a successful acquisition. Her expertise in project management, product management, and crafting effective policies and procedures has been pivotal in driving growth and operational excellence. Passionate about innovation, she is committed to pushing boundaries and empowering teams to achieve extraordinary results.

Beth Hickson-Main

CFO

Beth Hickson-Main, the CFO of GetShot LTD, is a former treasurer with a background in TV accountancy, which has equipped her with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail—qualities that are especially valuable in managing GetShot's finances, contracts, and legal frameworks. This work is more than just a passion for her; it’s a labor of love, enabling her to bring her positivity and great sense of humour to her work and the team every day. She joined the company early in its journey and is committed to helping us reach our undeniable potential—willing to do whatever it takes. Beth grew up bilingual in an international environment, which has shaped her open-minded and (mostly) easy-going nature. Whilst she is not a ‘gamer’ per se like most of the team, she loves what GetShot represents, and is most passionate about personal development and educational content.

Edmund Boyd

UX Manager

Ed Boyd is a Company Director and UX Manager at GetShot LTD, with over a decade of experience as a mathematics educator for young people aged 11-18. In leadership roles, Ed has consistently challenged the status quo, driving proven improvements in student outcomes through effective team management and the integration of cutting-edge, research-backed methods. Ed's deep understanding of the range of individual learning experiences that young people have, has been pivotal in his transition to UX at GetShot, where he focuses on usability and player motivation, with a side order of Economy planning. Ed’s focus is to ensure we deliver intuitive, exceptional experiences that resonate with players of all ages and backgrounds.
